Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Localads App (our mobile application) and this website (together, the “Services”), operated by LOCAL ADS SDN. BHD. (Company No. 1241049-H), referred to in these Terms as “LocalAds”, “we”, “us” or “our”. By downloading, accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use LocalAds. By using the Services, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into these Terms.

2. Your account

To use certain features, you need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it up to date, and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Please tell us straight away if you suspect any unauthorised use.

Multiple accounts. You may not create or use multiple accounts to collect coins, lucky draws, prizes, rewards, commissions or withdrawals more than once. To prevent this, the app records an encrypted device identifier when you sign in (see our Privacy Policy). When too many accounts are registered on the same device, the newer accounts may be restricted — they can still use the app normally, but cannot earn coins, join lucky draws, receive commissions or make withdrawals. Accounts or devices used for abuse may be suspended or banned. Before withdrawing money or receiving a payout, you must verify your own mobile number on WhatsApp. Each phone number and each bank account can only be used by one account, including after an account is deleted. After you change your verified phone number or bank account, withdrawals are paused for a short waiting period (currently 7 days) to protect you if your account has been taken over. If you believe your account was restricted by mistake (for example, a phone shared by family members), contact us at support@localadsapp.com.

3. Using LocalAds

LocalAds is a platform that connects local users and businesses. Through the Services you can, among other things, post and browse listings, buy and sell items, watch local ads and answer short questions about them, play games, collect patterns, claim and redeem vouchers and prizes, order from local stores, join the Partner programme, and discover local events. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

4. Listings, buying and selling

Users are responsible for their own listings, items, prices, and transactions. LocalAds provides the platform but is generally not a party to the transactions between buyers and sellers. You agree to:

• only list items and content you are legally allowed to sell and share;
• describe items accurately and honestly;
• honour the deals you agree to with other users;
• comply with all applicable laws in your dealings.

We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of items listed by users, or for the ability of users to complete a transaction.

5. Vouchers and deals

Vouchers and deals are offered by participating merchants and are subject to each merchant’s own terms, validity periods and conditions. LocalAds is not responsible for a merchant’s failure to honour a voucher, but we want to know if something goes wrong — please contact us.

6. Partner programme

The Partner programme lets you earn by sharing and referring within the app. Earnings depend on your own activity and are not guaranteed. We may set, change or end programme rules, eligibility and rewards at any time. You are responsible for any taxes on income you earn.

7. Points, Coins, rewards and prizes

LocalAds offers free rewards to its members, including promo credit for inviting friends. This section explains how they work. The rewards programme and every lucky draw in the app are organised and sponsored by LOCAL ADS SDN. BHD. Prizes may be supplied by participating merchants.

Free to take part — no purchase needed

• Points are earned for free, for example by watching a Video Ad or Photo Ad and answering its question correctly. Points are used to play Points Games.
• Coins are earned for free, for example from lucky draws in Points Games. Coins can be used to redeem vouchers, collect patterns and play Coins Games.
• Points and Coins cannot be bought with money, wallet balance, in-app purchases or Bonus, and no purchase is ever needed to earn them, to play games or to join a lucky draw. Paying for anything in LocalAds does not improve your chance of winning.
• Points and Coins have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money, sold or transferred to another account.
• Points are reset to zero every month. Coins do not expire. Some patterns have an expiry date and others do not — the expiry date, if any, is shown in the app.

Bonus (RM)

• Bonus is a cash balance in Malaysian Ringgit that you may receive, for example from Angpau Ads or by redeeming a complete set of patterns.
• Bonus can only be withdrawn to your own bank account, following the withdrawal rules in section 2. It cannot be converted into Points or Coins or used to play games.
• Bonus does not expire while your account is active. Any remaining balance is forfeited if you delete your account, so please withdraw it first.

Games and lucky draws

• Games are provided for entertainment. Each game shows its cost per round (in Points or Coins) on the game card and its target score before you start.
• Lucky draws are free to enter. Results are decided at random by our servers, and the possible rewards and how they are won are shown in the app at the time of the draw. Reward amounts vary and are not guaranteed.
• Only members aged 18 or older with an account in good standing are eligible. We may verify eligibility before awarding any reward.

Merchant prizes and vouchers

• Prizes won in Coins Games and vouchers redeemed with Coins are supplied by participating merchants. They are placed in “My Vouchers” and are redeemed by showing the QR code at the merchant.
• Each prize and voucher has an expiry date shown in the app. You must redeem it before it expires; after that it becomes void and cannot be replaced, extended or exchanged for cash.
• Prizes and vouchers are also subject to the merchant’s own terms (see section 5).

Invite rewards and promo credit

• Every member has an invite code. When a friend creates a new LocalAds account and enters your code (or signs up through your invite link), you may receive promo credit. The reward amount, the maximum number of friends you can be rewarded for in each campaign, and how long the credit is valid are shown on the Invite Friends page in the app, and may differ between campaigns.
• Your friend must be a real person creating their own new account. You cannot invite yourself or accounts you control (see section 2). Each account can have only one inviter. A member who forgot to enter a code when signing up can add one once, before the deadline shown on their Invite Friends page; after that it cannot be added or changed.
• Promo credit is a discount, not money. It has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, bought, topped up, transferred to another account, or exchanged for Points, Coins, wallet balance or Bonus.
• Promo credit can only be used in person at participating shops listed in the app: you show the code in the app, the shop scans it, and you confirm the discount in the app. Each shop sets its own minimum spend and maximum discount, which are shown in the app. Depending on the shop and the campaign, the discount is funded by the shop, by LocalAds, or by both; this does not change how much discount you receive.
• Promo credit is valid for the period stated in the campaign rules on the Invite Friends page, counted from the day it is given. The app also shows the expiry date when credit is close to expiring. Credit not used by its expiry date is void.
• Rewards for invites that show signs of abuse may be held for review before they are given. If abuse is confirmed, the reward is cancelled, and promo credit obtained that way may be removed.
• We may change or end an invite campaign at any time. Changes do not affect promo credit you have already received, except where abuse is found.

General

• We may change reward amounts, conversion rates, daily limits and programme rules, or end a reward, at any time. Changes apply from the time they are shown in the app.
• If we find cheating, multiple accounts (see section 2), automated play or any other abuse, we may cancel the Points, Coins, patterns, prizes, vouchers, promo credit and Bonus obtained that way, and suspend the account.
• Points, Coins, patterns, promo credit and unredeemed prizes or vouchers are lost when you delete your account.
• You are responsible for any taxes that apply to rewards you receive.
• Apple and Google are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, the rewards, games or lucky draws in LocalAds.

8. Payments

Payments made through the Services are processed by third-party payment providers. By making a payment, you agree to their terms as well. We do not store your full card or bank details.

9. Community rules and prohibited conduct

These rules apply to everything you post or send on LocalAds — ads, listings, photo posts, videos, comments, reviews, chat messages, events, and content you create with AI features. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. When using LocalAds, you agree not to:

• break any law or infringe anyone else’s rights, including copyright and trademarks;
• post sexual or nude content, or any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children;
• post violent, threatening, or dangerous content, or content that promotes self-harm;
• post hate speech, or harass, bully, threaten, scam or abuse other users;
• impersonate any person or business, or post false, misleading or deceptive content;
• list prohibited, counterfeit, stolen or unsafe items, or promote illegal gambling or drugs;
• attempt to hack, disrupt, or overload the Services;
• use the Services for spam or unauthorised commercial purposes.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any post, comment, review, store or user from inside the app using the “⋯” menu (or by long-pressing a post or comment), and you can report a chat from the chat menu. You can also block any user: you will no longer see their posts, comments or reviews, and they will not be able to message you. You can unblock users at any time in Settings › Blocked users.

How we handle reports

Ads and posts are checked before they are published. Every report is reviewed, and we act on reports as soon as possible, usually within 48 hours. Content that is reported by several different users is hidden automatically until it has been reviewed. If content breaks these rules, we will remove it, and we may suspend or permanently ban the account that posted it, without refund of any fees paid for that content. We may report illegal content to the authorities. If you believe your content was removed by mistake, contact us at support@localadsapp.com.

AI-generated content

Some features let you create text, images, videos, voice-overs or songs with AI. AI-generated content must follow the same rules as any other content, and you are responsible for the content you choose to publish. We automatically block requests and results that break these rules, and you can report any AI result in the app using the 👎 / Report button next to it.

10. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post (such as listings, photos and messages). By posting content, you grant LocalAds a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use that content as needed to operate and promote the Services. You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the rights to share it.

11. Intellectual property

The LocalAds name, logo, app and website (excluding user content) are owned by LocalAds and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify or reuse them without our permission.

12. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing, deal or prize will meet your expectations.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalAds will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from transactions between users, your use of the Services, or your inability to use them.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold LocalAds harmless from any claims, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, and remove your content, if you breach these Terms (including the community rules in section 9) or misuse the platform. You may stop using LocalAds and delete your account at any time.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be communicated through the app or our website. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
